Is Auto-Input Protection Free

I'm about to use the AIP and need to clarify whether AIP is absolutely free or whether i have to purchase it to use in my commercial appliations.

Appreciate if you can give me a quick response.

Hi,

AIP is absolutely free and open source for all purposes.

However, it uses a reciprocal license (§3.A) that requires you to keep AIP as free and open source even when it's distributed with applications that are not free.  To conform you must distribute the AIP source code with your application (providing a link to this website is sufficient) as well as a copy of AIP's license (currently, Ms-RL).

And although I don't believe that the following is covered in the license, it's usually a good idea to note any changes that you've made to the AIP source code for your product so that end users are aware that it's not the out-of-the-box version; e.g., if you supply a custom filter provider then you should probably note somewhere that it's something you've written and will support.
